GoldenGate Real-Time 2008 Annual User Conference Showcases Business Innovation through Real-Time Access to Real-Time Information
Partner and Customer Sessions Highlight how Real-Time Information Drives Business Benefits, While Reducing Overall IT Costs
San Francisco, CA - June 30, 2008 - GoldenGate Software Inc., a leading provider of high availability and real-time data integration solutions, today announced the conclusion of Real-Time 2008 , the company's fourth annual user conference, held at the Westin St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco. The event drew business and technology leaders from around the world, from a range of industries, including banking, financial services, retail, healthcare and telecommunications, who have standardized on GoldenGate Ò solutions to drive business innovation through real-time information, while reducing overall IT costs.
During the opening session, Ali Kutay, president and CEO of GoldenGate Software, welcomed attendees with a look at the evolution of real-time operations since the company's inaugural conference in 2005, and its growing importance as a mission-critical business directive. Kutay also shared company highlights such as expansion in new geographic markets including India, France, Turkey and the Middle East, as well as increased market share in telecommunications, retail and healthcare.
The conference keynote was delivered by Donald Feinberg, vice president and distinguished analyst at Gartner, who presented the importance of real-time architectures to drive business information needs. According to Gartner, by the end of 2009, 90 percent of Global 2000 companies will have at least one operational application dependent on data warehouse data for daily processing needs. However, he also stated that the data warehouse is already mission-critical, with more business processes dependent on timely, accurate and large volumes of information than ever before.
The second day keynote, an industry panel, "Technology Driving Business Innovation," featured IT executives who discussed the innovative use of real-time technology to enable business innovation. Moderated by Alok Pareek, GoldenGate‘s vice president of technology, the panel featured Ian Koenig, former chief architect at Thomson Financial, Christopher Uriarte, CTO at Retail Decisions (ReD) and Michael Franklin, co-founder and CTO at Truviso. According to the panel, innovation is happening on the "front lines" where real-time information is driving additional value, faster analysis, uninterrupted service, new levels of scalability and cost savings for the enterprise.
"A recurring theme running throughout this year's conference was that our customers are uncovering new opportunities to innovate using GoldenGate solutions, and many of these new opportunities have the added benefit of associated cost savings for IT operations," said Ali Kutay, president and CEO of GoldenGate. "Because our customers are standardizing on GoldenGate solutions for many different use cases in multiple heterogeneous environments, they can reduce their total cost of ownership. By consolidating, and streamlining data movement across enterprise systems, we help our customers maximize resources, share loads across multiple systems, promote future scalability and reduce overall storage and infrastructure costs."
The benefits of real-time information and innovation were on further display during 24 sessions spread across four tracks-business, technical, education, and best practices. Customers including Dell, Haggen, NetJets, Orbitz Worldwide, OSF Healthcare System, PayPal, SinglePoint, TravelCLICK, Inc. and VocaLink, among others, presented more than 80 percent of the sessions, detailing a variety of use cases for GoldenGate solutions within some of the world's leading organizations. This year's conference was sponsored by: Teradata Corporation, HP, MicroStrategy, Postilion, Amdocs, FSS, Fujitsu Computer Systems Inc., IBM, and ACI Worldwide.
